Haydn's Hundred

Sunday 22 May 2022

Gee we love a good milestone at the Blues. Haydn Brouwer, simply known as “H” to many at the club, played his 100th game for Monash yesterday.

Joining the club in 2014, H has been an ever-reliable stalwart of the Reserves and Thirds teams where his teammates always knew he would give 100% just so that he could join another ‘winstagram’ photo after the game.

In his earlier years at Monash, Haydn would do a bit of umpiring on the side and in addition to the two training sessions and game for the Ashes each week he would do multiple umpire training sessions and umpire games on the Sunday which blew the minds of all his teammates.

Still with the fire in his belly in his eighth season at Monash, this year has seen H give some outbursts to former umpiring colleagues that would have him struggle to cope if the VAFA introduced an AFL-standard dissent rule. Congrats on the milestone H!
