In last night’s Men’s Thirds game we celebrated two significant milestones as Jason Ly and Matt Madsen reached 100 games with the Club.
Jase is one of the older hands in the 3rds squad, bringing enthusiasm and determination to training and game day (though rarely exactly on time). Known for his ability to out-mark opponents head and shoulders taller than him, Jason has reached new levels in his game this year. Though it took him 90 games to kick his first goal for Monash, he has since recorded an additional 4 in his last 10 games.
Matt, otherwise lovingly known as ‘Razzle Dazzle’, is a core member of the Monash Blues club. Starting in the under 19s in 2016, Mads has been a consistent leader in the men’s 3rds team for multiple years now. He also played an important role in supporting the Women’s seniors to their first premiership as their runner/assistant coach. This year Matt has taken on new responsibility as a committee member of the club. In this role he brings his personal standards to the broader community and, in doing so, continues to improve the Club for all who call it home.
On behalf of everyone at the Monash University Blues Football Club, we congratulate both Jason and Matthew on reaching this hard-earned milestone.
