The Monash University Blues Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Batten as our Senior Men's Coach for the 2025 VAFA season. Andy joined the Ashes as our Men's Under 19 Coach almost twelve months ago. Battsy originally came to us after a long association with Old Xaverians where he played and later coached their second Under 19 team for four seasons, reaching finals in the two seasons not interrupted by lockdowns.
Blues' President Andrew Headberry welcomed Andrew stating “After a successful first season with the Monash Blues’ Under 19 program, we are extremely pleased that Andy has accepted the recently vacated Men’s Senior coaching role for 2025.”
This change comes after Dylan Cousins recently informed the Club that he would be unable to continue in the role due to family and work commitments. Taking over the coaching reins in late 2022, Cuz led the Ashes through our one season back in Premier B Men's and then for a season in Premier C. On behalf of the committee, players and staff of the Monash Blues Football Club, we thank Dylan and his family for his hard work and commitment over these last two seasons.
“We thank Dylan and his family for being an integral part of the Club and we wish them all the very best for the future", Andrew Headberry noted. "No doubt we’ll see Dylan down at The Frearson over the coming seasons.”
