On behalf of everyone at the Monash Blues Football Club, congratulations to Danny “Torpedo” Torpey who celebrated his 100th game this weekend!
Danny joined our Under 19s back in 2018, having moved from Mildura to be on campus at Monash. He immediately caught the attention of the Club, its past players and even the VAFA highlights reel with a hanger that is still being reenacted at the Stingo and club functions.
Danny went on to find his home in the last line of defence for the Reserves over the last four seasons. He has been a reliable and selfless teammate on and off field, has kept countless forwards goalless and sniffed out the occasional goal from outside the arcs.
Coming off strong outings in the last few weeks, we knew game 100 would deliver something special and the Torpey goal in a big win was it.
