"Showstopper" has just played his 200th!
A massive effort from and a huge congratulations to Mat Mason. His significant contributions to the Club and to the individuals that have played with him run a lot deeper than that number... it doesn't tell the story of the day he was on one of his trade-mark third and fourth effort attempts, dragging down the ball-carrier with a last-ditch tackle, only to look down and see his teammate on the ground with ball in hand. Or the massive Captain's effort of zero touches as a starting mid in a close loss, one of the rare days that the show stopped.
His career has spanned a few of generations of playing groups and he will be renowned as an in-and-under player who always put in one hundred percent, consistently setting the energy in the group. No doubt one of the most popular players to have come through the MBFC, his off-field contributions will never be forgotten either and he will share many great memories with a lot of people he played with. Well done "Dean".
